Note: Our meetings are usually held on the fourth Monday of the month. On occasion, we will change the date to accommodate a special guest lecturer.


Please note, our guest fee has changed. Starting with the September meeting, the guest fee is $20, unless otherwise noted.

Seasonal Dinner

We don’t have a regular meeting in December, but have opted for an annual “seasonal” dinner. Join us for this fun evening get-together.

The Ben Burland Show

Ben Burland has been wowing audiences and making people laugh for close to half his life. He attended Humber college comedy writing and performance program, Canada’s only full time college program for comedy professionals. He now combines his love of classic vaudeville skills with his unique self deprecating comedy style to create a one of a kind show. Ben juggles various dangerous objects including knifes and a real bowling ball.  He balances precariously atop a giant unicycle and also  bicycle that is smaller than his shoe!

Bumbling Bert’s Magic

with Robert and Scott Presswood

Robert & son Scott perform over 350 shows per year.  Their program is as silly and hilarious as a clown, but in a Magician’s attire. They are great at making kids and adults giggle! DJ, Magic shows, Movie night, School events, they do it all.

Mark Verge’s World Class Balloons


Jungle Jack aka Mark Verge is a 6 time, World Champion Balloon Artist! 1st Place in the Large category at the International Balloon Sculpting Competition held in the USA.

The Puppet Lady with Ventriloquist Yvette Locke

Yvette won the Junior Competition at the International Ventriloquist Convention and  later was the first Canadian to win the Senior Division.  Yvette toured the Canadian Auto Shows with Ford of Canada Marketing the 2000 vehicles.

During her twelve year career at Paramount Canada’s Wonderland Yvette & Her Puppet Friends has been awarded the Best Show in the park by unsolicited guest comments.

Having worked extensively with children her most recent accomplishment has been the launch of Safety Programs for school aged children through the Thames Valley District School Board. Yvette’s topics include Bullying, Don’t Talk to Strangers, Fire Safety and Racial Awareness.

Face Painting with Shannon Fennell

Shannon has been a professional make-up artist for over twenty years.  She graduated with honours from the Blanche Macdonald Institute’s (now known as the Blanche Macdonald Centre for Applied Design) Make-Up Artistry program in Vancouver, BC, and
has also trained in Hollywood and Europe.

Her credits include film, television, theatre, editorial and fashion work, as well as face and body painting.  She has been the lead make-up artist for over 100 theatrical productions – from one person plays to large productions such as Les

She is currently the Make-Up & Hair Coordinator for Grande Prairie Live Theatre.

Join Shannon as she teaches “fast faces for long lineups”.
